The World is Not Big Enough

My circumstances are not important enough to discourage me.
The world and its things are not valuable enough to entice me.
Defeat and failure, I welcome, for they draw me close to Christ.
Praise and Laud from man I shun, I seek to please my God.

Wherever He leads,
However He may,
O let me cling
And follow close.

And set my eyes
On God and His Son,
And work and toil
Til my life is done.

It has been a struggle trying to find a professor to fund me at Stanford. I feel like I have been trying and trying and God has been closing every door. Now, I want to submit myself to Him and wait on Him instead of trying to provide for myself. I want to trust Him and continually praise Him regardless of my present circumstances.
Though the fig tree should not blossom
And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the LORD,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
The LORD GOD is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places.
(Habakkuk 3:17-19)
